Curiosity Counts has now finished.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all who joined in and supported Science at Denmark Road.
British Science Week took place from 6-15 March 2026, and explored the theme "Curiosity: What's Your Question?"
To coincide with this national celebration of science, we ran our science-themed fundraiser, Curiosity Counts, in support of our Science Laboratories Refurbishment Project.
Curiosity Counts has now finished and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined in.
From sponsoring elements and making donations, to watching and sharing our videos, browsing our photos and celebrating our students' creativity, your generosity and encouragement have been greatly appreciated.
Thanks to your support, we are now one step closer to transforming our Science Laboratories, creating inspiring spaces where curiosity and learning can flourish for years to come.

The Vision
Our refurbished lab designs will result in light and airy labs, with benches in a ‘pod style’ layout. Services will be provided in the centre of the pods, allowing each student easy access. The labs will also be equipped with perimeter worktop and storage facilities, ensuring that equipment and prepared items are available for practical sessions without impeding student worktop space, until required.
Latest News
Thanks to your extremely generous donations so far, along with the fantastic £30,000 grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation, we have already been able to complete two of the laboratories over the summer 2025 holidays. During these works, our lab contractor also identified significant cost savings, which will carry through to the refurbishment of the remaining three labs and help reduce the overall cost of the project.
The total cost of the project is now £298,831.
We are continuing to work hard to secure additional funding from other sources. In the meantime, your support remains vital.
