Introduction
Science is central to our students’ learning at DRHS, inspiring curiosity and discovery. However, five of our science labs have not been updated since the last century! By refurbishing these spaces, we can create superb facilities that will enable our students to explore, collaborate and thrive.
The Vision
Our refurbished design will result in light and airy labs, with benches in a ‘pod style’ layout. Services will be provided in the centre of the pods, allowing each student easy access. The labs will also be equipped with perimeter worktop and storage facilities, ensuring that equipment and prepared items are available for practical sessions without impeding student worktop space, until required.
LATEST NEWS
Thanks to your extremely generous donations so far, along with the fantastic £30,000 grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation, we have already been able to complete two of the laboratories over the summer 2025 holidays. During these works, our lab contractor also identified significant cost savings, which will carry through to the refurbishment of the remaining three labs and help reduce the overall cost of the project.
The total cost of the project is now £298,831.
We are continuing to work hard to secure additional funding from other sources. In the meantime, your support remains vital. Please help us raise the remaining funds needed to complete the refurbishment of the final three laboratories.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
We're aiming to raise £298,831.00. So far we've raised £232,181.00
